It's very clear that struggles with her self-esteem and that's the type of depth I was hoping to see from all of them.
If you decide to take her eyes, you can hear her crying even more about how her appearance has been ruined and questioning why Gregory runs from her. We literally hear her crying to herself because she can't catch Gregory, saying things like "I'm not a loser" and "It's not your fault, that kid is just lucky" to try and convince herself that she has worth. When she's hunting Gregory she also repeatedly makes fun of him saying things like "I bet you don't even have friends" and "sneak away little coward." The leading question here is why does she feel the need to say all of these things to herself and to Gregory? The difference here is that we have an answer, it's because Roxy has extreme self-esteem issues, and unlike Chica and Monty, we don't need to speculate that this is true. To many people (including myself when I played through the game), she came off as a bit of a narcissist and self-absorbed. At the start of the game, we see her talking to herself in a mirror commenting on her great she is. For him, I would've loved a few vocal lines from him that could've explained why he's so aggressive. We know he's supposed to be the "cool kid" as you said and we know he's extremely aggressive but we don't know much else. The same pretty much goes for Monty, we know what his personality is supposed to be like but we don't get to actually hear anything from him directly about his thoughts and feelings. But, we don't know why, any reason we could think of would (again) be speculation. Chica's main trait that the game shows us repeatedly is that she LOVES to eat.
But aside from this, we don't really know all that much else about her, anything we could think of would be speculation based on in-game hints. Yeah, we have attributes that we can assign to Chica and Monty but we don't have as much depth to their characters as they deserve.įor Chica, we know she likes practicing her guitar, we know her personality was supposed to be "quirky" as described by one of the in-game messages, and we know she likes to eat (A LOT). I don't doubt for a second that Chica and Monty have a personality, my issue more lies with the fact that Steel Wool didn't show them off as much as they did with Roxy's. Roxanne though does have the most personality out of the three "evil" animatronics, but Freddy is the one with the most.going so far as to actually miss Bonnie and freak out that he may not be the first Freddy Fazbear and that there might be more of him. We know that Bonnie was scrapped and replaced by Monty, so it could easily be that Monty's eyes use to be Bonnie's eyes. Also, another key feature that other theorists have pointed out (saw on the actual FiveNights subreddit) is that Monty's eyes are red just like Bonnie usually has. The way he enters his boss battle by leaning down and showing off his eyes via tilting down his sunglasses is the type of move that shows his personality off (he also calls Gregory "Little Guy" and 'Kid' versus Chica and Freddy calling him by his name.whereas Roxy and Monty don't). Monty has personality as well, but he's the "cool kid" who leans against the wall next to the jute box.
